New Orleans Place

Settled into the new place in NOLA finally! Brenna & I both have jobs, & I will start reading in Jackson Square as soon as the rain clears up! Brenna hates her job (shot girl at a bar) & is looking for something better.
The Appt. is looking like a home now. Above is the view from our balcony.

Gus guarding said balcony!!lol

door on one side goes into kitchen, door on other into bedrooms, this is 1/2 of living room.

This is the other 1/2. We go out the window behind Jeff to go out on the balcony! That's how you get out there, the windows!!!
The rooms are huge! You can't see it from the pictures but they are! The balcony is probably 10ft wide & goes all the way around 2 sides of the appt. it's too cool!

When we walk the pug we go down the middle....everything is one way streets here. So there's this great 'green' down the middle of Esplanade. Oaks & Banana trees, sweet smelling flowers & flowering trees (no clue what they are, need to find out) ferns & spider plants. Pugs & I love the walks. OK not Lily so much. She thinks she should get carried or have a stroller! Lazy Pug!! There's even a great dog park in the Quarter, but we haven't had a chance to get there yet...to busy trying to get set up & get jobs & all that most wonderful stuff *sarcasm* We walk everywhere practically, & are up a flight of stairs so all of us are in a bit better shape than when we got here LOL

Jeff can't wait to get his fishing license...the Mississippi river is only 10 blocks from our place. AZ doesn't have the same kinda fishing lol!

Headed home soon

Well we will be headed home soon!!! Will only be in Phoenix for about 2 weeks then off to New Orleans for 2 months at least!
It's been a heck of a summer....I now know that I can support myself if I ever have to, that I do know how to run a business, & what shows I should or should not be doing to make good $$. I missed Jeff something awful while we were apart & we have decided that should never happen again!! And for him & I it's been great having him up here & being together again :-)

This last couple of weeks has been very hard on Jeff as his "last" friend is dying.....The last of his Vet. friends, I think he sees himself as the 'last man standing' & does not like it at all! Danny's in the hospital now & today is coming out of a chemical induced coma that the DR.s put him in to hopefully give his family & friends enough time to get there. They are taking him out of the coma today so that they can all say good bye....I feel so bad for all of them. Especially Nancy (Dannys wife) & Jeff. To loose your husband....don't even want to go there! To loose your best friend of sooo many years!!! All I can do is try to be there for them both.We will be headed home sometime next week, Jeff needs to stay to help Nancy for a few days & grieve on his own & with her.

Once we get home things will be super busy again.....want to see all the kids & grand kids. Have a Tea Party with my friends & girls...Enjoy a Full Moon ritual with my friends & Family...May be even get a trip to Sedona in!!! Then it's pack up & head to NOLA :-).
I'm looking forward to reading in Jackson Square & walking the Quarter & seeing all the people I have meet over the years of visits.

First weekend of WRFF

Well finally a weekend that went well!! Hot for Washington, but Jason & I had a great spot, right up front just past the front gate, by the food court & pirates. We had them coming & going & waiting for food....YAHOOOO! Jason was pretty busy on sat selling Shannon's stuff, & I was not so busy in the morn, but was hopping all afternoon! I made back the booth fee, enough to pay the third weeks booth fee & pay Jason & still have a little left over...again YAHOOOOOOO!!! Jason celebrated by buying himself a bracelet from Shannon :-)

I didn't get much time to run around & visit friends like I use to do at this faire, I'm a vendor now & don't get to get out much LOL. So every body came to me...I could get way use to this ;-) The Knights stored their stuff at the tent, I stored the jewelry at the archery range over night, everyone came by to visit during the day at different times....I had a blast!!!

My brother Jay, his wife Kris, & their youngest son Flint came to faire on Sun. I went back to have a smoke & he followed me, I told him he wasn't suppose to come in the back, he laughed & said "Chief of Fire Dept"....Oh yeah duh. I didn't get to spend much time with them, but they said they had a great time & are going to come back on the 3rd weekend, Flint plays the fiddle & wants to see Alexander James....
Flints pretty damn good, I've heard guys on Bourbon St not as good as that kid! No prejudice here at all, honest!!!

Lily went on Sat but had to stay home on Sun...To hot for her. She was to close to heat distress when we got her home on Sat night & that was after wetting her down at faire with a hose!! She had fun & played Queen till about 2:30 when it got above 90, then she just couldn't take it anymore. Gus on the other hand had nooooo problem!! I had taken the puppy kennel. Didn't need it! I had him on a leash all weekend & he was such a little gentleman!! I still call him Gus the Barbarian & everyone thinks it's just the cutest name....just doesn't really suit him anymore :-( I love that he's well behaved but miss the little monster all at the same time! Lily as a little monster is not a pretty or cute thing at all...just ask Chris or Frances or Pat or anyone who has ever met the PUG! She was such a....any way, when I got home tonight because Gus got to go & she stayed home, & I am still being treated to pissed off pug attitude!! hopefully she'll be over it by morning LOL

Hope everyone have a great weekend too!!

Just an Update

Well the last few weeks have been busy, but not too profitable! First Chris & Pat from Phoenix came up, then we headed to Sherwood OR for the Robin Hood Faire. On the way we stopped in Hood River & went on a train ride...It was awesome. Old train, lunch, great view, great people to share it with. Then on to the hotel. The event was Fri night, & all day Sat. We set up on Fri morn & went back in the afternoon so we could be ready.....Made Hotel fee, booth fee & nothing else. The event people were very happy to have us there, the Cathlice Church was happy to have us there...the other Churches not so much! Every time I would go have a smoke I was acosted by a preacher & told I was going to Hell because of what I do for a living....To bad for them I know the Bible too! Sent most of them away thinking about what I had to say :-) Silly people should not judge others, not their job!
Home on Mon. Back at work on Tue, Wed, Thur. This is inbetween picking up Frances at airport Wed night, going to Pikes Place on Thurs Morn with her & Chris...Then on Fri getting ready for Highland Games in Enumclaw.... Set up on Sat Morn. 7am. Ready to work by 8 am uugg. Work till 11 pm...Make back booth fee cause the people can't see where we are. Insert BAD word here. Take Frances to airport Sun afternoon OK Pat did that...work at Games till 6pm making 60 over booth fee YaHoo! Tear down, go home...Chris & Pat pack up, get ready to head home Mon afternoon.
Mon monr....Chris scooter breaks...no one can fix it soooo they are stuck here till Wed afternoon. I work tue...Not one singel client, over 80 in store....Wed scooter gets fixed Chris & Pat get to ariport & I go home no work for me today....
2moro I get to go set up fpr Washington Ren Faire in the morn, work from 3 to 7, YaHoo I get fri off....Not really I have to go get display for jewlery, umbrela for clients at faire, take it all out to the site, then may be I'll get to rest.
Faire starts on Sat. 2 bright spots are I get to see Jay 2moro & Jeff will be here next week
YAHOO!!!!!
Shheeeshhs I think I need to slow down a bit.

Back from AZ

What a great visit home.....Teri & Jo came over on Thur. with the kids & had dinner & b-day cake! Was to cool getting to see them. I have missed them bunches & the chance to see them was to awesome!!!! Everyone has gotten so big...Madi was home sick so I missed her :-( but Teri brought Kasy for me so I'd have at least 1 pug there :-)
Just getting to sit next to Jeff was great!! We didn't do much, just hung out together & went out to eat a few times. But the snuggling, & hugs were the bestest!!!! Instead of flying out on Sun. we went to Vegas & stayed the night & I flew out on Mon. so I got 1 extra day with him & that was super great.
I spent part of one day with Chris & Frances..we did lunch then went shopping LOL. Girl stuff, while Jeff went to the OFFICE....When the girls & I were done shopping they dropped me off there & Chris even played a couple of dollars worth!
Back in WA now...Getting ready for Chris & Pats visit here. They will be here 2moro. So I'd better get my butt in gear. Life gets busy again.....

First faire

Well the first faire was a bit of a bust money wise! Fun wise it was great. I took 2 grand kids & they had a blast....Q had never been to a faire before, he dressed up all weekend long as a pirate & got to meet tons of them, even 'Captain Jack Sparrow' Talk about one excited 4 year old....Lily (Lena's girl) has been to tons of these things & showed him the ropes lol. They saw Knights & Fairies, Pirates & Lords & Ladys, Barbarians & even got fight them. OH my. Fire dancers & Belly dancers.
Took walk abouts with the pugs, there were 4 of them....the Lady Lily, Gus the Barbarian (mine), Ivan the teribal ( Brennas), & Deliliha the Teriable ( Gina from the Seattle Knights)....2 kids 4 Pugs....Yep pretty cute....

This was the first year for this little faire, & the people that put it on tried real hard. Dameon & I spent some time talking with them about advertizing & PR work for next year. They did a good job, just didn't get the word out far enough & or long enough for there to be very many patrons. It takes time to build up any business & I have no prob helping these guys getting tis off the ground. The site was beautiful & I would love to go back....just with more people LOL.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend! :-)

So far the summer has been busy & it's about to get busier! Next week the faires start!!!! So I'll be working 3 days a week at the store, weekends at faire, with Monday & Friday off for cleaning & visiting people who don't go to faires. I got the Gig at the 4th of July in Tacoma & that should be one of my biggest of the year & they offerd me Taste of Tacoma for next year....YAHOO. I'm making lots of great contacts so for a new business & thats great.

I miss Jeff tons & we talk on the phone 4 or 5 times a day but its not the same. I miss the contact & touching. No seperation next year darn it!! He comes with me....

I've visited with Jay & got to see the boys preform once, still no phone call from Mom, we'll see if she call's at all. I hope she does. I enjoyed my visit with Jay & hope to see him more. I'd like to get to see Kris too. Saw Kelly last weeek & will see her again in a week or so. Chris & Patrick will be up in July to help out with one event in Org. it's so big I thought I'd need some help LOL. And she's coming up for research on her book anyway soooo two birds , one stone, right.

I miss the kids & grandkids too, but am getting to spend some time with Q, he's going camping to an event with me next weekend. I think he'll love it. Knights & Pirates will be everywere so should be great fun for a kid. Plus camping with Nana, & the pugs. I mean what more can a kid ask for right. I'm also taking Lilly, Lena's daughter (she's a grandkid too) so they should keep each other happy during the day. I'm hoping anyway!

This Weekend

Well Kiera's wedding was beautiful!!! She was lovely & he was handsome & they are both happy.....& I didn't cry til almost the end! Shiera cried all the way through!

The trip down was not so bad, the trip home was OK too.....until Vancouver WA....Where a lady jumped the green light & hit my car, totaling it. Shiera, the Pugs & myself are fine, OK not Lily so much she's pretty sore I'm taking her to the vet 2moro just to get her checked out. But the rest of us are fine.

The car did it's job, we are all alive & safe...but my car....dead!!!
Insurance is taking care of everything so that's good I guess.

Busy Busy Busy

Boy have I been busy since I got here! First unpacking, then catching up with everyone, which I still haven't done all the way. Got to see Kat & Nicole...B-Day party for Lori, with bunches of people I know there, so that was one big catch up for some of them, then a B-Day party for Darragh & even more people, that was the best, they had no idea I was even in town so I got to surprise them :-) . Then Kelly today. All this was done with Job interviews & readings in between, plus making sure all my faires had received applications & I was in...Yep they had & Yep I am....WOOHOO.

Got an e-mail from Jason today so I'll be seeing him soon I hope. He's gonna make sure his folks know I'm here since I don't think I have the right e-mail address. And still haven't heard from my mom, oh well the balls in her court, if she wants to talk she's got the number. Can't wait to see the boys sing again, I only got to see them once & that was at a wedding so I'm really looking forward to it!

The Pugs love it here, lots to do, lots of green, tons of people to adore Lily....& that is her favorite thing of all!! Gus got into something that broke him out, poor baby, spent all day yesterday on benadryl!!!! Dopey Pugs are kinda funny LOL. Felt bad for him though it was his B-Day after all.

Made It

Made it to Washington....it was a long trip. I don't drive like Jeff does. I stop every night. We left around 10am on Wed. & stopped in Nevada around 6pm, got a hotel for the night, had dinner, I read a book for awhile then out like a light....Up early & on the road by 6am....I hate mornings unless it's a faire morn LOL. We stopped for the night in Idaho around 6pm, long long long day. The Pug alarm went off at 3:30 am. Gus has not stayed at may hotels & something must have spooked him. So wide awake from the barking we decided to just hit the road. At 4am, did I mention how much I hate mornings???
Got to Amys house around 2. Unloaded my stuff, headed over to Queen Ann Hill to drop off Rains stuff....Small streets, twists & turns, with the trailer on the back of my car in Seattle...Oh the fun Oh the joy!!!! Finally back at Amys, long bath, food, then bed. Haven't had a chance to visit with Amy yet she's had to work & I've been gone when she's home.
Saturday was unpacking, visit with Kat & Nicole, birthday party-reading cards & palms for friends....home late. Today is a party with the Seattle Knights, games, bbq, & more games. Family day....They don't know I'm gonna be there so I get to surprize them, I love that!!!
Tuesday I stare working at a store in Seattle...Yahoo. It's gonna be a busy summer!

Getting ready to Go

Well it's been a busy month!! Packing & making sure I have everything I need, going to b-day party for grand kid, talking to my Mom (first time in years), baseball games for 2 grand kids & more packing.
The talking to my Mom part was, humm, interesting, I did what I usually do. Answered her question politely then tried to make my getaway, she just kept talking to me....nicely! Like she really wanted to know about my life....no negative reaction when I told her I read tarot cards & palms. No freaking out when I said I had my Pagan friends light candles for Kandi when she was sick. She even said thanks! We were not only nice to each other but I think friendly! Not once did I feel cornered or like I was being attacked, which has been the norm for me with her & Kandi for years. When she was ready to go she asked for a hug, I said OK, then she said she missed me.....at this point in my life my Mom dosent really know me, but I told her if she wants I'll be spending the summer in Washington I would be willing to spend some time with her & get to know her again...
The little girl in me loves my Mom, & the woman in me would like the chance to get to know her as an adult. I guess we'll see.

The b-day party was great... lots of friends...lots of kids...lots of food...lots of cake....fun was had by all. Mikey seemed to have a great time & so did Jo.
The b-ball game was super. Landon was awsome!!!! Pops & I had a super time watching his game & I got some great photos! He got some great hits & ran the bases too!!! Playing with Maddi was toooo fun too. Craig pitched for the first time on his game & did a great job!!! He's a great first baseman too!!!! I, at one point screamed in Chris's ear " Yeah Craig"..... Good friend she didn't get mad at all! I think we'll get to go to at least one more game before I go!!

I'm off to Sedona 2moro for a card reading party! Then home on fri morn for more packing so I can be ready to leave for Washington on Wed. next week. Talk about busy!!!!

Faire's Over

Well Faire's over now....I get to start going through the house & packing, organizing everything so that Jeff knows where it is, & deciding what I'm taking & what I'm not....
It was a great season this year, busy busy busy. But I had a blast. Lily loved going out with me every weekend. And Gus liked going too even if he didn't get to go to the booth with us. I met alot a really interesting people & even got a chance to get to know a few of them pretty good.

This next month is gonna be just as busy with packing & visiting the kids & taking care of business around the house & working for Mark & Cynthia too. Boy when I overload myself I sure do it up right LOL.

This is Lily reading Palms at Faire!!! People are silly...I got tiered of hearing 'look it's Frank from Men in Black" so I started saying "no it's Lily the only Palm reading Pug in the USA" for 5 bucks she sniffs their palm-looking for cookies I'm sure- I tell them Lily says this about your life line, heart line, head line & so on....then I say now Lily says give her her 5 bucks so she can buy more jewelry...& they do it!!!! Silly people, OH well they have fun, she loves the attention, & she gets new bling!

Summer

Well seems most of the summer is planned....or as planned as I can get right now. Most of my weekends are filled up with a Ren. Faire or a Pyrat event. And Kelly got me in touch with a Lady on Capital Hill in Seattle that wants me to do readings in her shop 2 or 3 days a week....& she doesn't want a percentage!!!! Then my Friend Priscilla said for any other days I want to work I can set up shop on her front step...1st & Pioneer, great location!!!Should be a busy & profitable summer!

I'm gonna be taking Brenna & all the Pugs with me to all the locations...I want to get Gus & Ivan use to tons of people & lots of noise. They need to learn to be less of the barbarians & better 'service dogs'!!! And Brenna needs to get out more & get use to people too, she sometimes has social problems, but I think with some encouragement & help she'll get better & feel more comfortable as time goes on.

I'm not looking forward to being away from Jeff for the summer. The meeting up in different places for the week ends will be fun, but not being 'together' all summer is a bummer. He'll be able to come up after Mark gets back from being Deployed again, only for 45 days or so this time. But with Jeff's new job he can't really be gone for more that 3 or 4 days at a time.....I had already made commitments to events soooooo I'm going! When I get back Mark & Jeff got me working in the office.....I really don't like the office! Glad I get Faire season!!!!!

Did you hear about the Pug Palm Readings??? People are silly, I say 'Lily, the Orical Pug of Faire will read your Palm for $5' I they do it.....She sniffs the palm (looking for cookies) I give a quick palm reading using Lily says....Then I say...Lily wants her 5 bucks so she can go jewlery shopping & they give it to her....LOL silly people. OH well it's all in Faire fun.

New Harley for Dad

Jeff gets his new Harley next week....He's sooooo excited, OK so am I.
Here's a picture......

What I Get for Saying I was Bored

I actually have to use the darn day runner!!! For almost everything. I am all booked up for the summer, I have an event almost every weekend! Yahoo for me. That will keep me busy & pay good. Not only that but I also have appointments throughout the week for readings, all summer long. So as I was sitting here waiting for faire to start, after the Holidays were over, I opened my big mouth & said that I was bored, cleaning Cynthia's house once a week, only got Mikey Fridays & Saturdays....Just nothin to do....now I can't find time to do anything....Is there no balance???

Cynthia is months behind in the paper work at the office & asked if I could help her catch up. I said Yep, ohhh foolish foolish woman that I am. I had no idea that doing paper work is sooooo boring, & that after a few hours of staring at the paper & computer your eyes will turn to mush LOL, or that my back would ....well you get it LOL. Oh well she's paying me pretty good.

I took Jo & Mikey out to 'English Tea' today. We went out to Carefree to the tea room met up with Chris & Frances & had lunch & tea. Sounds funny but was very elegant....Would love to take Teri & Maddy soon????? I don't think Craig would like it, too Girly LOL.

We start work on the Faire booth this weekend, gotta put it up & decorate it. Should be fun. I'll get to see some of the friends before Faire officially starts this year :-) I still have sewing to get done & have no clue when it will happen (sigh) . Desi needs a new coat & Mikey needs an outfit (double sigh). OK now it's bad word, bad word, bad word I just remembered I have 2 skirts that need embroidery around them. Oh well I'll get most of it done...& what doesn't get done, doesn't really need to I guess LOL.

Moral here is to never never ever say that you are bored out loud if you ever want to have one spare moment ever again.....for a very long time......

New Years Day

Spent the day with Teri & the grandkids...I like spending time with them, makes me reminisce, smile, laugh, all those fun thing being around kids can make ya do. They got to Cynthia's right around 11am 'Hi Nana' hugs all around then straight to the pin ball & fooz ball table. OK I will admit her house is a kids total dream, besides those two she's got a arcade style video game- Ms. pac man & Gallaga the heated swimming pool,dogs, cats, rabbits, guinne pigs, parrots, fish.....I have the hardest time getting pictures of the kids cause their moving too fast going from thing to thing, or I can get a shot but can't get them to look at me cause their playing a game & soooo intent on what they are doing LOL. I finally made them stop & sit by the fireplace so I could get one shot of them today that looked good & you could see everyones face :-}

Teri had a good time I think, I know the boys did, Madi napped, Cynthia loves having them over, & I had a great time. I love spending time with Teri & talking with her, I love watching the boys & spending time with them, & Madi's just a cutie. And & get to do it tomorrow...I think this is a great way to bring in the New Year!!!!
Thanks Teri!!!!
